Rise Children’s Alliance Gala – October 16th

On Thursday, October 16^th is the Rise Children’s Alliance Gala.  I would be delighted if you would be my guest. 

I am a long-time supporter and board member of Rise Children’s Alliance. I am putting together a table of amazing women to join me on this special evening.  (Details below.)

Rise Alliance for Children an organization transforming the lives of children facing trauma, conflict, poverty, and inequality.  Rise has worked in over 20 countries for nearly three decades. Poverty, food insecurity, war, and serious illness are all forms of trauma.

Scientific data demonstrates the profound and long-lasting effects of trauma on children-in part because an astonishing 90% of a child’s brain develops by age 5.

Today, we partner with more than 150 local organizations to build safe and nurturing environments where every child can play, learn, and thrive — especially during the most critical transition points of their lives.  We are present in vulnerable communities around the world, including Bulgaria, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gaza, Haiti, Ukraine, United States, and Vietnam.

Through our trauma-informed, play-based interventions:

• Children are 3x more likely to succeed in first grade — a key predictor of lifelong success.

• Programs have reached over 225,000 children and caregivers to date.

• Rise is on track to serve 100,000 children annually (and 1 million total beneficiaries) by 2034.
