Welcome.
Speaker A:Welcome very much for being here today.
Speaker A:o delighted to welcome you to:Speaker A:So as we gather in today, I invite you to just take a moment and imagine that we could be sitting together on December 31st of this year.
Speaker A:And just imagine we are sitting together, we are breaking out the champagne or whatever, your favorite beverages, and we have sparklers and we are ready to celebrate.
Speaker A:Because this year you created massive progress, massive success.
Speaker A:You overcame huge challenges.
Speaker A:So I invite you to think about what would that be for you?
Speaker A:What would:Speaker A:What would make:Speaker A:What would make this the year that you turned the corner.
Speaker A:And your success in business and your confidence as a founder and a leader really took a new level of growth.
Speaker A:So this day, we're going to meet together and talk about a breakthrough that you would like to have in your company and in your life.
Speaker A:So I would assert that every year is an opportunity to stage a massive breakthrough in your company every single year.
Speaker A:And the key here is that we select one important goal and then put unusual focus and attention on that goal.
Speaker A:But it's one goal that when you, when you reach it, it makes everything else easier, faster, better.
Speaker A:In some cases, when you solve for this one breakthrough, it makes a whole litany of other challenges go away.
Speaker A:So every year, we're invited to stage a massive breakthrough.
Speaker A:So Today on this LinkedIn Live, on this moment, together, we're going to do four things.
Speaker A:So first, we're going to help you select your 12 month breakthrough goal.
Speaker A:So begin to listen within and look at what your circumstances are and identify a particular goal that when you achieve it, will catapult you forward.
Speaker A:unlock your breakthrough for:Speaker A:So this is going to be the feeling that when you cultivate, it will actually accelerate your success.
Speaker A:And it's going to help you see a myth in how we achieve breakthroughs.
Speaker A:And you're going to discover a new way, a new truth about your feelings and about what creates growth.
Speaker A:The third thing we're going to do is you're going to create your own breakthrough blueprint.
Speaker A:And this blueprint can be used for yourself and with your team.
Speaker A:And it's really helping you articulate and see what you need to move mountains, what you and your team needs in order to cultivate success.
Speaker A:And last, you're going to discover the hidden gift, the thing you're meant to claim through this breakthrough.
Speaker A:So there's something that you are meant to claim.
Speaker A:Maybe it's some form of your power, some form of confidence.
Speaker A:Maybe this is the time for you to claim your worth or your.
Speaker A:Your value.
Speaker A:But this objective, this breakthrough, will help you do just that.
Speaker A:So let's get right into it, okay?
Speaker A:Now is your time for breakthrough.
Speaker A:You can have a breakthrough anytime you choose.
Speaker A:So what is going to be your breakthrough for this year?
Speaker A:st of:Speaker A:And being able to look back and say, gee, I am really feeling fulfilled.
Speaker A:I did so much this year that helped me move forward.
Speaker A:Or I grew so much as a human or as a leader.
Speaker A:I enriched myself, I stretched myself.
Speaker A:And I feel satisfied with the person and progress that I created.
Speaker A:I'm satisfied with my journey.
Speaker A:So think about what that would look like and what would make you feel that way.
Speaker A:What would you like to be telling me a year from now that would be be able to say, oh, this feels really fulfilling.
Speaker A:I feel really enriched.
Speaker A:So what outcomes and progress would that look like?
Speaker A:Also start to consider what's going to help you feel confident.
Speaker A:Maybe there's something right now where you're feeling uncertain, unsure.
Speaker A:But if you were to have a breakthrough this year, you could feel really super confident about X in 26.
Speaker A:What would help you feel empowered?
Speaker A:So what work could you do this year that would bring confidence, empowerment, strength?
Speaker A:And what would embolden you to think positively about the future?
Speaker A:So write down.
Speaker A:So use this time to write down.
Speaker A:What are the outcomes you would like to achieve in your business, with your team?
Speaker A:success look like for you in:Speaker A:And what does growth look like in terms of impact?
Speaker A:The impact you want to make in the world, in your community, with your customers?
Speaker A:What is the scale of your business?
Speaker A:How would you like to grow in terms of scale?
Speaker A:Is it growing the number of customers you have?
Speaker A:Is it growing the number of revenue, the amount of revenue you receive per customer?
Speaker A:Is it the.
Speaker A:Is it a particular type of service that you would like to bring to your customers?
Speaker A:And what about profit?
Speaker A:What about prosperity?
Speaker A:What would it look like for you to bring home prosperity from your business?
Speaker A:So take a moment, write all those things down.
Speaker A:Acknowledge whatever comes up.
Speaker A:Growth is coming from within.
Speaker A:It comes from within your own desires.
Speaker A:And whatever it looks like for you is just right.
Speaker A:So what is Breakthrough.
Speaker A:Breakthrough is a significant and often sudden advance.
Speaker A:Now I said sudden.
Speaker A:But it's often because it leads up to it, right?
Speaker A:So you suddenly are able to see a big difference in the progress or outcomes you're creating.
Speaker A:It could be an advance or a discovery.
Speaker A:It could be overcoming a major obstacle.
Speaker A:So think about what those could be for you.
Speaker A:Maybe it's unlocking a new possibility.
Speaker A:And when you unlock that possibility, it becomes an irreversible state of discovery.
Speaker A:So once you make that discovery, you're never going to go back.
Speaker A:Once you know how to grow, once you know what creates, what creates connection with your customers, once you know what customers needs are, then you are in a new new state.
Speaker A:You'll also be embracing along the way new thinking, new feeling, new believing, new operating.
Speaker A:Also when you break through, you will have a different state before than after.
Speaker A:So allow yourself to see that there's a big difference in this breakthrough.
Speaker A:So what would.
Speaker A:When you think about what you don't want now, what do you want a year from now?
Speaker A:And it's also transformative.
Speaker A:And this means that it is both inner and outer.
Speaker A:It will inquire your inner growth.
Speaker A:It will elicit you to become more of the person that you long to be.
Speaker A:So this is breakthrough.
Speaker A:So there's lots of examples.
Speaker A:But what I'd like to really shine out here is some that are more personal because you notice that they're dramatic.
Speaker A:And that's what we're looking for.
Speaker A:We're looking for something that's dramatic because if you can produce one big, massive result this year, it will transform the way your whole company operates.
Speaker A:So let's say you're not healthy, you're not well, and you're, you're not exercising, you're in a sedentary state.
Speaker A:Your lifestyle is such that you don't want to exercise, you feel exhausted, maybe your A1Cs are really high and your, the weight on the scale is high, your cholesterol is high.
Speaker A:And so that's your before state.
Speaker A:So that's your condition that you don't want.
Speaker A:And so the after state could be, and this is realistic, in one year you could have a massive breakthrough in your health.
Speaker A:You could lose £20, you could complete half a marathon, you could increase your energy levels and you could reduce your cholesterol.
Speaker A:So those are all examples of like a big breakthrough.
Speaker A:So the other thing you can think about is what growth looks like.
Speaker A:So maybe right now you look at your growth and you can see what's good about your current, current company and your current number of customers.
Speaker A:But what would you like it to be?
Speaker A:What would be the next level of growth that would be really, really like, exciting for you to achieve?
Speaker A:And so an example would be stagnant sales.
Speaker A:So maybe you're getting 2 or 3% growth every year, 5%, 10%.
Speaker A:But what you really want to see is like you want to double your business this year.
Speaker A:You want to see exponential business in say three or four years.
Speaker A:You want to be at 10x where you are tonight, today.
Speaker A:And it could be in terms of your revenue, could be in terms of the number of customers you serve, or it could be in the, in the amount of profit you have.
Speaker A:So just imagine which of those things would be really exciting for you and where would you like to be in 12 months?
Speaker A:t and doubles your revenue in:Speaker A:Or, or it could be something more like you really decide to home in on your enrollment, engagement, marketing funnel.
Speaker A:And you were going to learn how to make it so that you get plenty of prospects and they convert to plenty of real good prospects, qualified prospects, and they come new customers, and then they become forever satisfied customers.
Speaker A:So maybe you could design a system this year that cultivates every month you get new leads, every month you get new customers, every month you grow your sales.
Speaker A:So lean in to see what that breakthrough in growth might look like for you.
Speaker A:And write down, start to write down what you think that 12 month breakthrough is.
Speaker A:And also we can think about it in terms of the stages of your business growth.
Speaker A:So here you can see that the force for good stages on the screen here there's four stages.
Speaker A:Existence, survival, scale and impact.
Speaker A:And so you want to identify which of the four stages your company is in.
Speaker A:Are you in that existence stage where you've got an idea for a company and you're really, you know, just getting off the ground?
Speaker A:Or are you in survival mode where you've got a company, you've got probably even a team potentially, and you're creating sales, but they're not always consistent and you're still at a place where the company is largely dependent on you.
Speaker A:If you were to, you know, decide to take six months off the company probably wouldn't survive.
Speaker A:The next stage is where you're at scale.
Speaker A:And scale is where you're really seeing exponential growth, meaning you're doubling every year.
Speaker A:And you have the systems and the products in place.
Speaker A:So you have the systems in place that can allow for you to grow and you have also, do you have great products in place?
Speaker A:Your services and products are so good that they pretty much sell themselves.
Speaker A:You also have the right team.
Speaker A:You're no longer doing everything.
Speaker A:So you have the right people in place, the right marketing, sales, the right people in charge of your products and services.
Speaker A:Your customer service is great, your technology is great.
Speaker A:Your, your, your whole financial operation system is running and churning so that you can grow to your eight and nine figure stages.
Speaker A:So that's what scale and then impact is.
Speaker A:When we, we look at, within the force for good system, we look at a business in 10 year chunks and then we pieced it back into well, what do we want to do first?
Speaker A:What do we want to do in 10 years?
Speaker A:And then how do we get there three years from now, 12 months from now, quarter from now?
Speaker A:And so when you're at impact, that's when you hit your first big impact goal, your first big goal on the way to your massive vision for whatever it is you're creating in the world with your company.
Speaker A:So identify where you are with your company.
Speaker A:Which stage are you at?
Speaker A:Are you at that point where you've achieved your 10 year first goal and you're ready to set your second goal?
Speaker A:Big, big massive goal?
Speaker A:Or are you more in the existence or survival or scale?
Speaker A:And the idea here is why breakthrough is important is because companies that move through the first two and three stages the fastest are the ones who focus on one breakthrough at a time.
Speaker A:Once your company starts to begin, get really good at the breakthrough process and becoming cyclically virtuous with breakthroughs, then you can start to get to a point where you can have maybe, you know, you have a team of 50 or 60 people, you might put up and have more than one big breakthrough in a year.
Speaker A:A big company might be able to have two or three breakthroughs in a year.
Speaker A:But most companies, especially ones that are, that are flat with growth and not achieving the prosperity that you would hope, one breakthrough a year will actually give you so much more amplification than trying to do more than that.
Speaker A:So where are you and think about, as I was just describing, like which of those breakthrough goals would be really desirable in this year ahead?
Speaker A:Okay, so a 12 month breakthrough goal is a powerful objective that when reached, significantly, positively changes your company, elevates your company forever and ever.
Speaker A:So it leads to a beneficial outcome that significantly enhances everything else.
Speaker A:It addresses the key problem or constraint that is happening in your business and eliminates that problem in 12 months.
Speaker A:It also represents a singular pivotal success that will propel your company forward.
Speaker A:So identify what that 12 month breakthrough is.
Speaker A:So thinking about it, thinking about it, it's time now to go ahead and pick your goal.
Speaker A:So go ahead and on a piece of paper in front of you, what's the one outcome that would be the most delicious and empowering for your company?
Speaker A:What would make all the difference and would remove so many other blocks and resistance?
Speaker A:What would help catapult your business to the next level of success?
Speaker A:Write down that goal.
Speaker A:And this is going to be a specific, measurable, achievable with growth, a resonant meaning you actually want to achieve it and it will feel exciting for you and your team and have it be time bound.
Speaker A:In this case, we're talking about a 12 month goal.
Speaker A:So, okay, go ahead, write it down on your piece of paper that's in front of you and circle it.
Speaker A:So I like to circle it with the intention of success, of prosperity, of wisdom and growth.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:So go ahead and write that down, circle it up and let it into your heart.
Speaker A:Because right now, at this moment, as we move into the next section, trust that this is a transformative goal.
Speaker A:This goal is going to shape the future of you and your company in a super positive way.
Speaker A:It's going to catapult you to the next stage.
Speaker A:And as you achieve this goal, not only are you going to achieve the outcome of the goal itself, but it's also going to empower you and your team to discover how to be able to create breakthroughs.
Speaker A:You're all going to become masters of your own breakthroughs internally as well.
Speaker A:So as we move now to the next section, what is the unmet feeling that will unlock breakthrough?
Speaker A:Now, this may seem silly, but this is an important question question.
Speaker A:And it's one that will allow you and coach members of your team to really harness the most easy way to get to success.
Speaker A:This is the most fun and easy way to achieve breakthrough.
Speaker A:Because as we'll see a little later on, sometimes breakthroughs can be difficult.
Speaker A:You encounter challenge.
Speaker A:So it's important to understand that, that there's a key feeling that you can cultivate for yourself and for your team that will make everything about this journey so much richer and easier and faster.
Speaker A:So there is a myth.
Speaker A:There's a myth out there, my friend.
Speaker A:Think about this.
Speaker A:So you think, oh, I'm going to lose the weight and finally I'm going to feel great, going to feel healthy, I'm going to feel sexy, I'm going to feel confident, I'm going to feel worthy.
Speaker A:Okay, okay, that's not the truth, right?
Speaker A:So the myth is I will feel positive elevated feelings when I accomplish that goal.
Speaker A:That's the myth.
Speaker A:The truth.
Speaker A:The truth is that in order to accomplish, accomplish your goal, in order for me to lose the 20 pounds, I actually need to cultivate positive elevated feelings, right?
Speaker A:So that's what we want to identify.
Speaker A:So I start to think about your 12 month goal.
Speaker A:Maybe it's to secure your next hundred customers, for example, and to create lasting value for them so that they stick around.
Speaker A:So identify your goal and then say, how would it feel for me to have that goal completed?
Speaker A:How would it feel for the team to generate that new outcome?
Speaker A:So all desires, this is important.
Speaker A:This is an important part of the architecture creation.
Speaker A:All desires or goals are unmet feelings in disguise.
Speaker A:Okay?
Speaker A:The only reason we desire things is because we're craving an unmet feeling.
Speaker A:So we're in our companies today and we are living with the circumstances that we have and we feel a certain way about it.
Speaker A:So think about your current circumstances, whatever it is just data as how many customers you have, the impact that you're getting, the systems you have in place, your team members, all of these pieces, your, your current marketing collateral, your, your social media, your balance sheet, your financials, okay, so you have what you have and then from wherever it is you start to say, gee, I desire something, but really, so maybe I would desire more customers or maybe I desire more revenue, or I desire more profitability or I desire more impact.
Speaker A:So all of these desires, AKA goals, are actually unmet feelings.
Speaker A:They're feelings that we are wanting, but we see them in a goal, we see them in an external, in an external progress, objective goal.
Speaker A:So what are the feelings that live inside your 12 month breakthrough goal?
Speaker A:What would it feel like if you had 100 new customers this year?
Speaker A:What would it feel like if, if you doubled your profitability?
Speaker A:What would it feel like if every customer you had today wrote a testimonial about you and it spurred a whole grassroots effort?
Speaker A:So what would that make you feel?
Speaker A:Would it make you feel positive, elated, generous, worthy?
Speaker A:What would it make you feel?
Speaker A:So take a moment to identify this, the specific feelings that you would feel, because really that's what you're craving.
Speaker A:And what will happen usually is we, we go about, we think we're going to get to the end of the goal and then we're going to feel worthy.
Speaker A:But the actual truth is that as you cultivate the worthy feelings, or the valued, appreciated feelings, or the successful, accomplished, fulfilled feelings as you claim, claim those Feelings along the way, you can start to actually catapult your progress on that goal faster.
Speaker A:So think about this next piece.
Speaker A:Here is your, that you are, you own your feelings and so you can go ahead and create them.
Speaker A:So what can you do to create the feelings you long to feel?
Speaker A:So take a moment and write down some of those things.
Speaker A:What maybe allow you to feel acknowledged every day?
Speaker A:Well, maybe you could write down in your journal three things you did yesterday that you want to acknowledge yourself for.
Speaker A:Three wins.
Speaker A:Maybe you could take a moment every day where you light a candle and you take a moment to acknowledge yourself.
Speaker A:Or maybe you're like me and you like to drink coffee or tea and you're going to drip.
Speaker A:You're going to drink in.
Speaker A:Every time you drink in during your, your workday, you're going to drink in that feeling of worthiness and enoughness, plentiness, prosperity, whatever the feeling is.
Speaker A:So identify three or four habits that you can bring to your day so you can cultivate those feelings.
Speaker A:And understand that as you do that, you're going to make it easier for you to have a breakthrough.
Speaker A:So the next objective today is what is your breakthrough blueprint?
Speaker A:Okay, so I like to share that, that the years in my life.
Speaker A:So I've had a couple of really big breakthrough years.
Speaker A:This last year was one of them.
Speaker A:Last year we, oh my goodness, sold my company.
Speaker A:Last year we moved to New York City.
Speaker A:I, I, I got my book completely ready to publish, was 100% ready to go live when it did in January of, of, of this year.
Speaker A:So, like, on one hand, it was this incredibly rich, accomplished year.
Speaker A:But what it feels like to go through these breakthroughs isn't always easy.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:I always like to say progress isn't always pretty.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:Those moments leading up to breakthrough, when you are achieving breakthrough is oftentimes uncomfortable.
Speaker A:So when you decide that you're going to create a company that is catapulting itself forward, having breakthroughs, it's important for you to understand what that's going to feel like for you and for your team, because it may not be all roses, right?
Speaker A:We think about, oh, I'm going to have breakthroughs, so I'm going to feel success.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:You're going to have little moments of success.
Speaker A:Certainly there's also going to be moments when you don't feel success, when we are just marching up the, you know, Mount Everest and it's hard.
Speaker A:So this is a way for you to really understand what you do in the breakthrough process.
Speaker A:So first I want you to think about what breakthroughs you already experienced in your life so far.
Speaker A:So what are the things you're really proud of?
Speaker A:What have you overcome?
Speaker A:What have you accomplished?
Speaker A:So think about, you know, for me, one of those things was, was selling my company, right?
Speaker A:That was a big breakthrough.
Speaker A:Building the company was a big breakthrough.
Speaker A:Getting us from the first 18 months at Illumina, we went from zero to six and a half million dollars.
Speaker A:That was amazing.
Speaker A:Then the pandemic hit and everything flattened.
Speaker A:But this was one of the most challenging 18 months of my life, for sure.
Speaker A:And, and so, and along the way, it didn't all feel good.
Speaker A:And we weren't having major successes all the time.
Speaker A:It was more looking and seeing how are we, what do we need to do to do better, right?
Speaker A:So the process of breakthrough, and this is in.
Speaker A:Actually that journey for me of going from zero to six and a half million in, in 18 months was a journey that I realized could be better for myself and for team members as they're going through breakthrough by anticipating what breakthrough actually looks like.
Speaker A:So here is the cycle of breakthrough.
Speaker A:So there are four steps in the cycle of breakthrough.
Speaker A:We're going to walk through each one of those.
Speaker A:So the first step in the cycle of breakthrough is step, step one, unconscious incompetence.
Speaker A:Okay?
Speaker A:This is when you don't know a problem exists.
Speaker A:So this is like, okay, you start your company and you start selling or you think you're going to start selling, right?
Speaker A:Got this idea and you're going to market it out and you've got your plan.
Speaker A:And so this is the moment when you don't know you have a product where there's something in your system that isn't working.
Speaker A:Like something in your marketing, for example, or something in your customer service, or something major in your product that's really not working, or something about your team, right?
Speaker A:Something isn't working and you don't know yet that it's not working.
Speaker A:So this is where you have lack of awareness of where growth is stuck, stuck.
Speaker A:And we're not specifically bothered by it because we don't even know exactly what the problem was.
Speaker A:But think for yourself about a time when you had a big breakthrough and you had to go and climb a big mountain.
Speaker A:One of those things that you already were just thinking about a few minutes ago and consider how it was before you knew that there was need for attention and change.
Speaker A:So what was the circumstances and what was happening with that and before you knew.
Speaker A:So you were like stumbling into about to discover you needed to have a moment of Clarity and breakthrough.
Speaker A:So for some people, like, and you can think about your team members who are unaware of the things that aren't quite working right in your company.
Speaker A:They might be running around and they're just fine, or they might be content or they might be knowing something isn't quite right.
Speaker A:Maybe you have experienced this.
Speaker A:It's like, well, I keep doing this thing, I come to work every day, but I'm not getting as many opt ins, I'm not getting as many conversions, I'm not getting the sales leads, my customers, my prospects aren't saying yes.
Speaker A:So you don't really know what's wrong.
Speaker A:But it's sort of like there's a frustration, my numbers aren't growing, there's despondence.
Speaker A:Maybe you even feel disconnection, right?
Speaker A:You start to just zone out and watch, you know, some Modern Family or something at night.
Speaker A:So, so these are the feelings, right?
Speaker A:Fine.
Speaker A:Disconnect content.
Speaker A:And now think about for yourself.
Speaker A:Now, we're always in a state of unconscious incompetence, right?
Speaker A:We're always unaware of things that aren't working or things that we could improve or ways that we could make our lives and our companies better.
Speaker A:So we always need to be able to honor the part of us that is not perfect, right?
Speaker A:The part of us that is incomplete, the part of us that is unaware.
Speaker A:So what do we need to do?
Speaker A:What do we need to cultivate within our teams and for ourselves to be with the fact that we are unconsciously incompetent.
Speaker A:Okay, so this is a question for you to answer.
Speaker A:What do you, what do you need?
Speaker A:Maybe you just need to be accepting, right?
Speaker A:You need safety and security.
Speaker A:Maybe you just need to honor what is.
Speaker A:So that when you discover that there is something consciously incompetent about what you're doing or the progress that you're making, that it doesn't.
Speaker A:That it's not the end of the world, right?
Speaker A:It's like, okay, all right, so I'm not perfect, company's not perfect, it's all right.
Speaker A:So think about what would you need?
Speaker A:What do you need to be able to live in a world where you're not perfect, right?
Speaker A:What do you need?
Speaker A:Do you need to have some safety in your life, some security?
Speaker A:Maybe you just need to acknowledge what is.
Speaker A:Maybe you need more gratitude for what is.
Speaker A:Maybe you need to acknowledge the successes that you're having, right?
Speaker A:Whatever they are, even though there's unconscious incompetence present.
Speaker A:So that's the first cycle, the first step of the breakthrough blueprint.
Speaker A:How can you be, what do you need in order to be with the fact that your company and you are imperfect all the time?
Speaker A:The second thing is you want to look at once you discover that there's a problem or there's an area, let's say you're trying to help your company grow and you're trying to bring in 100 new customers this year.
Speaker A:So you start to look at the data, you start to see where you're having trouble.
Speaker A:And so you're like, well, how many suspects do I have, how many prospects do I have, how many sales inquiries do I have and how many of them turning into customers?
Speaker A:And then what happens after they become a customer?
Speaker A:Do they stay a customer?
Speaker A:Do they, do they disappear after 30 days?
Speaker A:So you start to gather information and this is where you discover, oh my goodness, I don't have any opt ins or after somebody has my product for 30 days, they disappear.
Speaker A:So this is where you become conscious of something that needs a breakthrough, something where you're in your team are not perfect.
Speaker A:Somewhere that you can improve, that you can grow, that you can innovate, that you can transform.
Speaker A:So imagine being in that state.
Speaker A:So I'm sure in your previous breakthroughs you had to discover that, right?
Speaker A:And for my team, when we were growing to six and a half million, we had created a whole funnel for hiring nurses, because nurses is what drove our business.
Speaker A:If we had enough nurses, we could bring more patients home for the hospital and provide nursing hours and so forth.
Speaker A:So we were trying to grow our nursing hours and bring more children home from the hospital.
Speaker A:That's what our company was focused on.
Speaker A:And so we discovered that even though we had a lot of people at the top of the funnel where they were coming into interview position for positions, we were losing them in really big chunks along the way.
Speaker A:So we became suddenly aware of our incompetence of getting people through the interview funnel, or for your case, it might be your marketing funnel.
Speaker A:So we were not converting from stage to stage.
Speaker A:We were losing people all along the way.
Speaker A:So that, that made us all feel kind of, you know, crappy.
Speaker A:And depending on the role, some people were defensive about it.
Speaker A:If it was your job to do the interviews and do all the things you start, maybe you felt defensive, right?
Speaker A:Members of my team might felt that way.
Speaker A:I might have felt shame, somebody else might have felt blame, somebody else might have felt overwhelmed or a mixture, maybe anger, disappointment, maybe just like I don't even want to deal with it.
Speaker A:So I'm just gonna sort of hide out.
Speaker A:So Lots of feelings.
Speaker A:So think for yourself when you discover along the journey that there's something wrong in what's in the system, right?
Speaker A:There's a lack of perfection, right, where there's an opportunity to improve.
Speaker A:What are some of the feelings you have?
Speaker A:What are the uncomfortable feelings?
Speaker A:And maybe you also have some hopeful feelings, too.
Speaker A:Maybe you have some.
Speaker A:Some good, resilient, gritty feelings also.
Speaker A:So write down the feelings you get when you discover we need to make an improvement here.
Speaker A:So then you want to identify what would.
Speaker A:What do people need to feel?
Speaker A:What do you need when you're feeling defensive?
Speaker A:Shame, blame, overwhelm.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:What do I mean when I'm feeling that way?
Speaker A:So oftentimes what happens is in a company, you set goals, and then you bring your team together every week or whatever cadence, and you start going through and saying, okay, so we were gonna.
Speaker A:Here was our goal.
Speaker A:And you start to see that there's not progress right away.
Speaker A:Oftentimes that's the case.
Speaker A:It takes a little time to make that progress.
Speaker A:And so people are feeling defensive and shame and blame, and yet we go, well, why didn't you do this?
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:So that's putting them even more into defense.
Speaker A:So what we want to do is say, what do people need when they're feeling defensive?
Speaker A:They need to feel again, maybe they need to feel that it's safe.
Speaker A:Maybe they need to feel that they're making small strides, maybe being able to see any kind of positivity, any kind of encouragement, any kind of acknowledgement, any kind of small wins.
Speaker A:So along the way.
Speaker A:So for a lot of people in that stage of conscious incompetence, giving them the ability, giving yourself the ability to have lots of small, little, tiny, achievable wins, not things that are outside your control, but things that you can actually control and actually achieve that, even if it doesn't result in the first big gust of more customers, for example, that it will be able to say, I did what I said I was going to do, and I feel good.
Speaker A:So you want to have that stage of conscious incompetence.
Speaker A:You want to make sure you know what your blueprint is for that stage.
Speaker A:What do you need to feel?
Speaker A:And so if you need lots of little quick wins, you need acknowledgment.
Speaker A:Maybe you need rest.
Speaker A:Maybe you can't work as many hours.
Speaker A:Maybe.
Speaker A:Maybe this is not a time where you can work 10, 12 hours a week.
Speaker A:Maybe you can only work four, four or five.
Speaker A:So may.
Speaker A:Or maybe you need to put those really hard, vulnerable activities at the Beginning of the day or at a time of day when you have the most energy.
Speaker A:So those.
Speaker A:This is how you're creating your breakthrough blueprint.
Speaker A:So when you discover that you have a conscious and competence, what do you need?
Speaker A:Write that down.
Speaker A:The next thing is what happens when you discover progress.
Speaker A:This is stage three, conscious competence.
Speaker A:So finally, things are spinning, things are going in the right direction.
Speaker A:You start to see the, the numbers rising and you're starting to feel like, okay, good, we still, we're getting there, we're getting there.
Speaker A:I like to say that this is when you, you get to like 80, 90% there.
Speaker A:And now some people, when they get 80%, 90 there, they're great.
Speaker A:They can just keep on chugging, right?
Speaker A:But most people get to 80, 90% and they're like, really?
Speaker A:Do we have to keep talking about this?
Speaker A:Keep the goal?
Speaker A:I'm done with this school.
Speaker A:I have to keep going.
Speaker A:It's so hard.
Speaker A:Think about it.
Speaker A:It's like you maybe if you've had like, you know, if you're on a thon, right?
Speaker A:And I've never done, I will never do it, but I've done a long, long, long walks and hikes.
Speaker A:And then sometimes it's in that last stretch that it's the hardest.
Speaker A:So it's in the last stretch.
Speaker A:So how do you show up?
Speaker A:How does that feel?
Speaker A:Do you feel excited or do you feel frustrated?
Speaker A:You feel annoyed, bored?
Speaker A:You feel like spent?
Speaker A:So what do you need at that stage?
Speaker A:What do you need in order to create continued progress in those stages for yourself?
Speaker A:Maybe you need more gratitude.
Speaker A:Maybe you need a couple parties.
Speaker A:Maybe you need to see.
Speaker A:Maybe you need somebody else to take that stage, right?
Speaker A:So maybe you have different parts of your team members who work on the early stage when it's when you're in the stage of unconscious competence and conscious incompetence, maybe somebody else can take it and carry it to the end.
Speaker A:Somebody who's really good at just knocking it out, continuing to do the hard thing over and over again, but isn't necessarily as good at just like swinging at new fences.
Speaker A:All right, so see how you can make that stage of almost there, but not quite make that stage easier for yourself.
Speaker A:The last stage is where you achieve your results.
Speaker A:And it's so achieved.
Speaker A:It's going on and it's so much a part of your system that you're now able to just naturally.
Speaker A:In our case, we were, we had a goal every month to bring in 15 nurses and put them into homes, make them billable.
Speaker A:And so it's at that point where your systems are now elevated and they're churning out 100 new customers every month or 100 new customers every year, or 12 new nurses in the field every month, whatever that that is where it's just happening and it's happening with the systems that are already in place.
Speaker A:So recall for yourself times when you've achieved your goal.
Speaker A:It feels solid and it feels like you don't need to put as much energy to keep that goal in place.
Speaker A:Maybe it's in a happy marriage that you see that maybe it's in, you know, some, some place in your life and your health, your well being.
Speaker A:You don't have to, for example, maybe you don't worry anymore about whether invoices get run every week, right?
Speaker A:Because now that's a system or the scheduling gets taken care of or the product gets delivered in a particular timeline.
Speaker A:So these are things that.
Speaker A:It's unconscious competence.
Speaker A:It's the things that are already, that are now working.
Speaker A:So how do you feel about the things that are already working?
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:Most of the time we don't feel anything.
Speaker A:We don't even notice them.
Speaker A:So this is your opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate what is working.
Speaker A:So all the time we need to be honoring and praising what is unconsciously working because we have things that are unconsciously working and things that are unconsciously not working.
Speaker A:And neither are, you know, you don't want to be taken too much by either.
Speaker A:You want to have the things that are working propel you to help you do the things that are not working.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:So, so be aware of what your needs are, are.
Speaker A:So in this, this section, we just talked about how you create your own natural way of dealing with breakthrough.
Speaker A:So knowing what your natural response to breakthrough is at each step, stage, how you're going to feel and what you will unconsciously need.
Speaker A:So the big takeaway here is that teams need lots of acknowledgement.
Speaker A:They need lots of safety.
Speaker A:They need lots of belonging.
Speaker A:They need lots of accomplishment.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:So we want to make sure that there is this continuous cycle going on at every stage where we're nurturing those same things.
Speaker A:The other thing that really helps with all of this is meaning being able to have a purpose, being able to remember why it is that you're making it through this, this goal, why this goal is so important, what will be the, the outcome?
Speaker A:So in, in the case of when we were going from zero to six and a half million in 18 months and we were learning, we were building a system that could, could, could attract and implement 12, 15 nurses a month into the field.
Speaker A:We were constantly focused on that, that the idea of bringing home patients from the hospital, it was because we were taking care of patients.
Speaker A:We wanted to make sure that moms had care at home for their little children who had bents and trachs.
Speaker A:So you want to align your breakthroughs as well with purpose and meaning, why they're important, what's the value they bring to the customer?
Speaker A:What's the value they bring to the team?
Speaker A:So take a moment and think about your 12 month breakthrough and the bigger reason why.
Speaker A:The meaning and the purpose that will, that you could put into your culture along with all the needs for safety.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:Gratitude.
Speaker A:Looking at numbers, for example, or looking at progress as you're going through, very important when you look at numbers, to always see what's right rather than what's wrong.
Speaker A:Always say oh, you know, like, oh, we were.
Speaker A:Our goal was 300 prospects.
Speaker A:We had 192.
Speaker A:We only had 192.
Speaker A:The language is invited to change.
Speaker A:Say oh, 192.
Speaker A:We're on our way to 300 rather than oh, we only did 192.
Speaker A:We're not hitting our goal.
Speaker A:So being able to discover what people need in order to break through, including yourself.
Speaker A:All right, the last objective is what is the hidden gift of your 12 month breakthrough goal?
Speaker A:So your 12 month breakthrough is a process of change.
Speaker A:All breakthroughs require change.
Speaker A:So breakthrough is a process of both inner and outer change.
Speaker A:And the alchemists, and I am an alchemist, I am a business alchemist, would say that, that the outer change comes from the interchange.
Speaker A:So it is as we get the courage to go and make those sales calls.
Speaker A:It's as we have the courage and the brilliance and the attention and the grit to create those marketing messages and show up in the meetings and do the things that we need to do.
Speaker A:It's through that interchange, walking over the coals and doing the things necessary, that we discover inner gifts.
Speaker A:We actually grow inside.
Speaker A:And that's what creates the outer growth.
Speaker A:So breakthrough in the inner, outer world requires breakthrough in the inner world.
Speaker A:So as you think about your 12 month breakthrough, whatever that goal is, I invite you to see that it is a date with destiny.
Speaker A:Your 12 month breakthrough goal is the date for your personal growth development.
Speaker A:It's the.
Speaker A:It's a date for every single person on your team to uncover hidden gifts.
Speaker A:It is a way for them to develop confidence.
Speaker A:It's a way for them to develop skills.
Speaker A:It's a, a way for them to, to See themselves anew from being a person who might be nervous or afraid, or somebody who shames and blames into being somebody who is confident and self loving and who sees their own personal value and is empowered.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:So, so every time we have a breakthrough goal, we, we are empowered when we decide to see it as a journey for ourselves.
Speaker A:So think about your goal.
Speaker A:All right?
Speaker A:So 100 customers, new customers this year, double your revenue, whatever it is.
Speaker A:Why is this desire important?
Speaker A:Why is it important?
Speaker A:Write down why is it important?
Speaker A:And why is it important to your customer?
Speaker A:Why is it important to people in the world?
Speaker A:Why is it important as a, as a transformational value for, for customers, for your team?
Speaker A:Why is it important?
Speaker A:Do you want those customers so that in my case, in my health care company, you can bring patients home from the hospital?
Speaker A:Is it because you want to help your customers grow their company?
Speaker A:Is it because you have a company that makes shoelaces for children that are specialized to help them learn to tie their shoes and you want more children to feel comfortable, confident?
Speaker A:What is the reason why you developed your company and, and what will happen?
Speaker A:What's the reason why this goal is so important?
Speaker A:And what is the feeling?
Speaker A:We've talked about this, the unmet feeling.
Speaker A:What's the unmet feeling that lives inside this breakthrough?
Speaker A:So maybe it's a feeling of relief.
Speaker A:Oh gosh, we finally got through that, we solved for that.
Speaker A:I feel relieved.
Speaker A:Or maybe it's like, wow, now we have momentum and that makes me feel powerful.
Speaker A:Or maybe it's like, now I know we can do it.
Speaker A:So I feel confident right now I know we can do it.
Speaker A:And now I really feel like we're worthy.
Speaker A:I'm worthy, the company's worthy, we're on track.
Speaker A:I feel solid.
Speaker A:So what are the feelings?
Speaker A:And then ask yourself the question.
Speaker A:Next question is, what will you learn?
Speaker A:What will you personally learn?
Speaker A:Learn on the journey?
Speaker A:What will you learn about yourself, about how business works?
Speaker A:So just imagine you're, you're going to figure this out.
Speaker A:So what is it you're going to learn?
Speaker A:And what will you learn about what's possible as you move towards breakthrough?
Speaker A:So if you were to achieve this, what would you learn?
Speaker A:What skills, what new magic, what new beliefs?
Speaker A:And then start to see that there's a part of you, when you think about this goal, it's a breakthrough goal because you know you have to stretch as a human and there's a part of you that is nervous, that is afraid, that doesn't believe that it's possible.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:So what is that part of you believe?
Speaker A:And so by overcoming and doing it and achieving it, you're going to prove that old limiting belief wrong.
Speaker A:You're not worthy, you're not good enough, you're not smart enough, whatever it is.
Speaker A:So now it can transform into number five here, the deeper gift that's available to you.
Speaker A:So maybe it's you being able to claim your worth, or maybe it's you being able to claim you are enough, or you being able to really validate that you're worthy or you being able to really claim yourself as a dragon slayer.
Speaker A:Whatever it is, write down what's the deeper gift you are meant to receive by owning this journey and creating this breakthrough.
Speaker A:And what's powerful about this is that now, whenever you imagine and think about the things you need to do related to this goal, every time you talk about it with your team now, you understand that it is, that it has a much bigger purpose than just that breakthrough.
Speaker A:It's about something way more powerful than just that one 12 month goal.
Speaker A:All right, so we did it.
Speaker A:We selected a 12 month breakthrough.
Speaker A:You did it.
Speaker A:You identified an unmet feeling.
Speaker A:So maybe it was a feeling like excitement, success, worthiness.
Speaker A:Maybe you wanted to feel, you know, fulfilled, accomplishment, relief.
Speaker A:And then you discovered your breakthrough blueprint.
Speaker A:You just, you discovered how you feel as you travel from unconscious incompetence all the way around to conscious competence.
Speaker A:And the things that you and your team need in order to create breakthrough.
Speaker A:You discovered all the feelings that you have in those stages and they're not all rosy.
Speaker A:So you can accept that journey as long as you, as long as you're aware of it.
Speaker A:So you now know what you need in order to go through breakthrough.
Speaker A:And last.
Speaker A:You discover that as you go through that breakthrough, you are going to be claiming a gift, a deep hidden gift that you will be able to use everywhere else in your life, not just here in this one place.
Speaker A:All right, so take a moment and acknowledge yourself.
Speaker A:Be able to see yourself now clearly being able to create that breakthrough.
Speaker A:,:Speaker A:I want to be there with you celebrating and really claim how you will receive that hidden gift along the way.
Speaker A:That enoughness, that worthiness, that prosperityness, whatever it is along the way.
Speaker A:So to help you go on from here.
Speaker A:So we are, we're doing a whole breakthrough series today.
Speaker A:We did define your breakthrough.
Speaker A:Next comes the secret architecture of growth.
Speaker A:It's so fun.
Speaker A:You're going to love it.
Speaker A:You'll take this breakthrough and apply it to this, to the five mindsets of growth next.
Speaker A:After that we'll talk about your breakthrough reason why.
Speaker A:And this is where we dig really deep into, into a bigger frame for your breakthrough.
Speaker A:And this is on the 20th.
Speaker A:And then you're going to grow your, you're going to grow your, your breakthrough through your growth puzzle.
Speaker A:So growth is a puzzle you can solve.
Speaker A:The problem is we oftentimes aren't focused or aware of the specific puzzles we're solving for.
Speaker A:So we think we don't have power to do what needs to be done.
Speaker A:But in fact we do.
Speaker A:We just have to decide on the puzzle.
Speaker A:Whoops.
Speaker A:Back one.
Speaker A:Sorry.
Speaker A:So that's the next piece and then the last one is your growth sequence.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:So that's the next cool piece is your growth sequence and that's where you lay out your plan.
Speaker A:And we're going to put that in a beautiful four page plan.
Speaker A:The four page growth plan.
Speaker A:So that's number five.
Speaker A:And when we, when we do that on the 29th, you're going to be able to, to have your first draft of the four page growth plan.
